Probably the most noteworthy part of this week was interviews. On
Wednesday, President Martin, Sister Martin, and the zone leaders
interviewed everyone in the zone. President’s interview was very
interesting. He talked a lot about four types of missionaries: gold,
green, blue, and orange. Gold missionaries are very “by the book”,
very checklist-oriented, dependable, reliable, etc. Their top priority
is whatever they consider their duty. He said that you can always
count on a gold missionary to get something done, but they tend to be
the most boring missionaries. Green missionaries are curious. They
believe that rules are good for the most part, but they won’t let a
rule stand in the way of their curiosity. If they want to discover or
experience something, they will, whether or not it’s approved. Blue
missionaries are very people-oriented. They love people and do
everything they can to help them. They also think that rules are good
for the most part, but if they feel that it’s necessary to break a
rule in order to help someone, they’ll do it in a heartbeat. Orange
missionaries have a complete disregard for rules altogether. They tend
to be the funnest missionaries, but people are also a little
embarrassed by how far they take things.
It was pretty interesting to hear missionaries described that way.
President also talked a lot about how different colors of missionaries
can relate to each other better. It helped me see a lot of things
Well, I hope things are going well for all of you. I love you!
