Sorry that this is late, it’s been quite the crazy week. Every
missionary in a leadership position (assistants, zone leaders,
district leaders, and trainers) is attending training meetings from
9:00 to 5:00 this week. This started Tuesday and Friday’s the last
day. The Quorum of the Twelve recently put out a lot of new training
material, so they’re teaching it the missionaries this week. In the
meantime, there has to be shifts for the other missionaries. In my
district, there are two zone leaders, two trainers, and a district
leader. This covers five areas. The missionaries whose companions go
to meetings have been shifted around to cover the gaps. This week I’ve
been working with Elder Bennet, who came out with me, in both of our
areas (Burbank 1st ward and Burbank 2nd ward). We’re on bike, and
together we cover about half of Burbank, but it’s been working out
really well. Elder Bennet’s a really good missionary; it’s great to
work with him.
We also attended a baptism this Saturday. Elder Alldredge (one of the
zone leaders) had his family fly out to Burbank from Florida. Elder
Alldredge’s brother was baptized, but didn’t want to do it without
Elder Alldredge there, so they came here. It was really cool to see.
I can’t believe it’s already almost transfers. The past few weeks have
flown by. I love you!
